Marking Scheme
Each correct answer will carry 4 marks. For every wrong answer 1mark will be deducted.
Time
Maximum time for each paper is 02 hrs and will be conducted in two sessions from 1000hrs to 1200hrs and 1400hrs to 1600hrs.

Objective (OMR Answer Sheet will be used).
Qualifying Marks
The Candidates will have to score minimum 40% marks in each paper separately and have an overall average of 50% to qualify.
Penalty for Wrong Answers
There will be penalty imposed for wrong answers marked by a candidate - half of the mark assigned to the question will be deducted as penalty.

Mathematics and Physics as subject up to Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess a diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
Medical Standard

Height: 157 cms Reduction in minimum height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations.

Weight: Proportionate to the height and age. ( + 10% acceptable)

Chest: well proportionate, minimum 5 cms expansion

Selection Procedure
The selection of Coast Guard Assistant Commandant (GD) is based on an all India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidate in various stages (I – V) of examination (explained in detail below) and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG. All candidates will be compulsorily subjected to biometric, photo identification and document verification during various stages of examination. Various stages of CGCAT are as follows:-
